Richmond County is coextensive with Staten Island. Until 1975 the borough was officially named the Borough of Richmond. In the year 1898 the towns of Staten got dissolved and Richmond County became one of the five boroughs of the expanded New York City. It is the only borough that is spiced with majority of non Hispanic White. The county covers 102.50 sq mi of area and is home to 0.4 million people.
